Man jumped into Lagos lagoon, agencies in search of his body

A man has just reportedly jumped into Lagos lagoon on this Friday afternoon, and got himself drown to death.

According to LIB reports, it was learnt that the man at about 11am got to the bridge, removed his clothes and then jumped into the Lagoon. Passersby searched his pocket and discovered his phone and two ATM cards. They called a lady on his phone who said she is his wife.

ENMB gathered that some notable agencies are already at the scene to save the situation - although, it is impossible to save the man because he is already drown to death. Officials of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Marine Police and others are there present in search of the body.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, it was also reported that a man jumped into a canal in the Festac area of Lagos State.

In another occurrence, a 58-year-old, Taiwo Titilayo Momodu by name, was prevented from jumping into Third Mainland Bridge.

The suicide of this kind has been so perpetual these days - why people chose to commit suicide by jumping into the Lagos lagoon is still a big unanswered question.
